2026 Annual Benefit
A Night Honoring Becky Howland
Since 2018, KAJE has established a vital testing ground within New York City’s cultural landscape, providing support for creative practices that rigorously defy disciplinary bounds and audience expectations. For our 4th annual benefit, we are thrilled to honor artist Becky Howland—a figure of exceptional cultural impact within NYC.
Howland is widely recognized for her work expressing deep ecological concerns in the presence of energy extraction, political power, and the environmental consequences of contemporary life. Celebrated for the inventive nature of her independent practice, Howland has also been a key figure in experimental artist collectives across New York City since the 1970s, notably as a member of Colab (Collaborative Projects Inc.) and as a co-founder and early director at ABC No Rio. Her cross-disciplinary practice evinces KAJE's versatile and disobedient spirit, and we cannot wait to celebrate her with our extended community!
KAJE's annual benefit brings together the organization’s closest supporters and friends to recognize the range of artists who collaborate with our space each year. All proceeds benefit the health and sustainability of our artist-forward mission supporting creative impulses that are difficult to define and in need of participatory testing grounds.
